Blackout was created to reduce the attack surface of individual and group communication. Our goal is to ensure your conversations stay between you and the individuals you send them to. We want to get back to the days when you could talk to a friend in confidence or have people over to your home and know that your conversations are confidential.

We are building a network and infrastructure to support those who matter most to us. We want to provide an oportunity to share our knowledge to those who have the desire but lack the means.

We have created a network of tools that on their own aren’t necessarily new or made by us. Each tool on its own is great for privacy and security but we tied them together to create a powerful means of protecting your individual data.

Tools

Check out our tools.

  • Homeserver using the Matrix protocol hosted with Synapse.

  • Private and secure way to save and generate strong unique passwords with our self-hosted bitwarden instance.

  • Self-hosted instance of Standard Notes. You can store all your notes encrypted and synce them with ease across all your devices. Big tech doesn’t need to know what is on your to-do list. That is your private data.

Chat Vault Notes

All of our tools have a guide to go with them on our documentation site.
